TWO suspects have been arrested in connection with a criminal syndicate responsible for a series of crimes on the Copperbelt.
Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer, Mwala Yuyi, identified the suspects as Phanwell Phiri of Chingola and Wesley Mwewa of Solwezi.
Mr. Yuyi explained that the suspects, who were found with gun-related paraphernalia, were apprehended during a police operation in Malemba area, Solwezi, North-Western Province.
He stated that Phiri has been supplying arms to the syndicate.
Police have since seized, among other items, three air-guns, two rifles, one Greener shotgun, 93 rounds of shotgun ammunition, and 500 air-gun pellets.
