GARRY Nkombo has announced that he will not recontest the Mazabuka Parliamentary seat in the 2026 General Elections.
Mr NKOMBO says his decision is driven by the desire to dedicate more time and energy towards campaigning for Republican President Hakainde HICHILEMA ahead of the 2026 polls.
The veteran politician has indicated that supporting President HICHILEMA’s re-election bid and consolidating the achievements of the New Dawn Administration remains his major priority.
His announcement has since sparked reactions among citizens and party members, with many describing the move as a demonstration of loyalty, sacrifice and commitment to the ruling party’s vision.
Mr NKOMBO has served as Mazabuka Member of Parliament for several years and remains one of the senior and influential figures within the UPND.
