COURT DISMISSED UPND LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE.

THE Lusaka High Court has dismissed a case in which a UPND member challenged the party’s leadership over the alleged failure to hold a convention.

LUSAKA High Court Judge RUTH CHIBBABBUKA ruled against the claim.

The case was brought by UPND member CHARLES LONGWE, who argued that the party must hold its convention before the 2026 General Election.

Mr. LONGWE contended that the mandate of the current office bearers had expired, making the convention necessary.

The court, however, found no legal basis to compel the party to hold the convention at this stage.
