SINDA Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament Masauso Tembo has joined the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) with over 1,600 followers.
Mr. TEMBO announced his defection during a public meeting addressed by Eastern Province UPND Chairperson Peter Phiri at Chisichi Village yesterday.
He said his decision was motivated by the developmental policies initiated by President Hakainde HICHILEMA’s administration, noting that Sinda, like many other areas, has recorded massive development over the past four years.
Mr. TEMBO urged residents to maintain President HICHILEMA’s in office so that the developmental gains can be sustained.
Other defectors include Nyamasonkho Ward Councillor Abel ZULU and Constituency Chairperson Simon Mwale.
Meanwhile, Eastern Province UPND Chairperson Peter Phiri said Mr. TEMBO’s move reflects confidence in the ruling party’s performance, assuring the people of Sinda that Government will continue fostering development in the district.
